Is there a 2016 Nissan Leaf battery upgrade?
I’ve had my 2016 Nissan Leaf for years, but I’ve driven it a lot for work and racked up a lot of miles. I’ve noticed that the battery just doesn’t hold the charge it used to. Is it possible to upgrade the battery, or is that too expensive?

It is possible to upgrade a 2016 Nissan Leaf battery. But first, ask yourself if your battery is still covered by the warranty.

has an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty, so if your battery is defective, let Nissan foot the battery replacement bill!If you’re hoping for a bigger battery (with more charging capacity), you can upgrade yours. The 2016
Nissan Leaf
already has a decent 30-kWh lithium-ion battery, but you can install a larger 40- or 62-kWh battery in your car.With that, you’ll enjoy a longer range (either 149 miles or 240 miles)—but it will cost you. A replacement 40-kWh battery runs around $5,500 while the 62-kWh battery will set you back about $8,500 to $9,500. Don’t forget to factor in labor costs, which can add around $1,000 to your bill, too!
