Is the Mazda CX-5 a crossover or an SUV?

I would prefer to buy an SUV because they seem sturdier and better for towing, but I’m not sure whether the CX-5 is a crossover or an SUV. What kind of car is the Mazda CX-5?

The Mazda CX-5 is a crossover, not a standard SUV. It also has a towing capacity of just 2,000 pounds, meaning it’s not the best choice for drivers hoping to haul anything too heavy.
Mazda does not currently make a non-crossover SUV. The Mazda with the highest towing capacity is the
Mazda CX-9
, which is capable of hauling just 3,500 pounds. This means that if you’d like to use your new car for towing heavy items, you might need to look into other brands to find the type of SUV you need.
If you do decide to buy the CX-5, though, you’ll need to get
