I’m a huge researcher when it comes to selecting a new car. I really like the features and reviews that the Hyundai Santa Fe gets, but I can’t quite tell if it’s a compact, subcompact, or midsize SUV. What is it?

It’s somewhere in the middle. Many publications count the Hyundai Santa Fe as a compact SUV, but Hyundai lists the vehicle as a midsize SUV on its website. That said, if the Santa Fe is a compact, it’s one of the largest ones on the market and slightly larger than its sibling, the Hyundai Tucson.
The Hyundai Santa Fe offers seating for up to five passengers, configurable seats to balance passenger capacity and storage, and up to 72.1 cubic feet of cargo space. It also boasts up to 28 mpg while also offering a hybrid model that can get up to 36 mpg.
