I was thinking about getting a new SUV, and I like what the Honda Pilot has to offer. However, it seems like it might be a bit small for my needs, but maybe it’s deceptively shaped. Is the Honda Pilot a midsize SUV or something else?

Your uncertainty is understandable! The Honda Pilot is actually a midsize crossover SUV, which means that it has the amenities of a midsize SUV but rides more like a car than a truck. A crossover is built on a unibody frame, which can make the ride smoother.
However, the Pilot feels far more like a full-size SUV than any other SUV in the Honda lineup. With room for seven passengers via third-row seating and up to 83.9 cubic feet of cargo space, it’s one of the larger SUVs in the segment. It also offers a 280-hp 3.5-liter V-6, available all-wheel drive, and up to 27 mpg.
