BMW i8
is more of a hybrid than a full-fledged electric car. The rear wheels are powered by gasoline while an electric motor powers the front. With its 11.6 kWh battery, it can only get about 31 miles in full electric mode. Here are some other interesting facts about the BMW i8:
- The car pushes 369 horsepower, but many of its critics say this isn’t enough given the steep price ($147,000).
- It’s been clocked at 3.9 seconds going from 0-60 MPH.
- The BMW i8 was actually discontinued in 2020 which could, in turn, make it into something of a collector’s item.
