Is plumbing covered by home insurance?
I live in an old two-story house with my bedroom on the first floor and a bathroom directly above it. I woke up to water leaking from what I suspect is a burst pipe. I know I need to get this repaired as soon as possible, but I’m wondering is plumbing covered by home insurance?

Here are a few things to consider when it comes to plumbing coverage and home insurance:

- Slow-forming damage. Plumbing isn’t usually covered by home insurance if there’s slow-forming damage. For example, if a leak has been present for a while, the damage will be considered the result of poor maintenance. Side note: most insurance providers won’t cover lead piping.
