Is lane splitting legal in Virginia?

I’m going on a road trip through Virginia and a few of my fellow motorcyclists are going to hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I just moved to Virginia, and I’m not familiar with all of the laws. Can I lane split in Virginia?

Lane splitting is illegal in Virginia, so you shouldn’t do it under any circumstances. In fact, you could be convicted of reckless driving by doing so.
According to Virginia Vehicle code § 46.2-857, A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who drives any motor vehicle so as to be abreast of another vehicle in a lane designed for one vehicle, or drives any motor vehicle so as to travel abreast of any other vehicle traveling in a lane designed for one vehicle.
