Performance vehicles like your BRZ require higher-grade fuel. It won’t hurt your engine if you use a higher grade than recommended (like 95 in an engine designed for 91).
However, you should never go below the recommended grade. In your BRZ, you should not use regular (87) or mid-grade (89-90) fuel.
