Nearly the entire distance of I-90 in New York is a toll road. It is part of the NY Thruway.
There’s a small section outside of Buffalo that doesn’t apply a toll and another part in Albany that’s not part of the Thruway system. Otherwise, if you take I-90 across the state, you will pay tolls for your travel from end to end.
The amount you pay will depend on the size of the vehicle you’re driving, your payment system, and what route you plan to take. Luckily, the New York Thruway Authority has a couple of handy tools to help you figure out exactly how much your tolls will be.
