Is fast charging harder on electric cars?

I love being able to top up my car with fast charging but the extra power must take a toll on my EV’s battery. Is fast charging harder on electric cars?

You’re on the right track—Level 3 chargers are perfect for topping up your EV. Fast charging does have an effect on your electric car’s battery but it’s minimal.
According to the Idaho National Laboratory, an
electric car’s
battery will deteriorate faster if its only power source is a Level 3 charger.
Fortunately, this is rarely the case. Most electric car owners do the bulk of their charging at home using a standard outlet. Though this option is much slower, it’s more convenient because it allows for overnight charging.
Frequent fast charging will affect your electric car’s battery chemistry and increase the rate at which the battery will decline. To preserve the health of your battery it’s suggested that you top up with fast charging and do most of your charging at home.
