Is driving with a cast illegal?
I broke my leg recently and I finally got my cast on. It’s my left leg, so I still have full use of my right foot. Would it be illegal for me to drive with the cast on? I use my car to get everywhere so it would be really inconvenient if I can’t drive!

We’re sorry to hear that you broke your leg! While driving with a cast on either foot is not illegal, it’s still not recommended that you drive while you’re recovering.
This is because a cast can impede your range of motion and therefore decrease your reaction time, which can, in turn, increase your likelihood of getting into
an accident
.Since it’s your left foot that’s broken, however, it’s much safer to drive than it would be had you broken your right foot. If you’re able to prop up your foot out of the way of your right leg, you should be able to drive without too much trouble. If you’re worried, you can also talk to your doctor to make sure that driving is a good idea for you.
