You’re going to have so much fun learning how to golf together! For the most part, driving a golf cart is very similar to driving a car—it just operates at a legal maximum speed of 25 mph.
You’ll most likely operate an electric golf cart, although there are gas-powered models too. Golf carts operate quite similarly to a car:
You start the golf cart with a key
Step on the pedal to accelerate
Direct the golf cart with a steering wheel
Although golf carts operate at a much lower speed, they can still be dangerous, especially when there are no doors! Here’s how you can drive safely:
Always have your seatbelt on when the golf cart is moving
Ensure all passengers are seated before driving
Ensure all equipment is secured
Check your surroundings before moving
Slow down when turning
Do not accelerate at full speed
Do not slam the brakes
Check that all the lights (headlights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.) are working
