Is a Volkswagen Tiguan an SUV?

So I’m working my way back from a minor craniotomy—I hit my head trying to fight off a gang of raccoons who recently annexed my kids’ Little Tikes Cape Cottage in the backyard (and yes, they’re still dug in)—and my spouse is already bugging me to look at a Tiguan as we have a baby on the way. Now, I’m still a bit foggy from the surgery, so remind me—is a Volkswagen Tiguan an SUV?

Yes, the 2023
Volkswagen Tiguan
is indeed an SUV, with a starting price of $26,590, and the Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that boasts 184 horsepower.
The Tiguan’s engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It features electric power-steering, as well as a front wheel drive drivetrain on the base S trim. Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive is an available option.
With another kid on the way, you’ll be happy to know the Tiguan seats seven and has three rows of seating, in case your older child wants nothing to do with the screaming newborn strapped to their carseat in the second row. The Tiguan also features 73.4 cubic feet of cargo space, because you’ll have a lot more paraphernalia to haul around with two kids than with just the one ankle-biter.
And best of all for you, the new Tiguan sports 38.2 inches of headroom, so you won’t have to worry about bumping your head when you get into the front seat.
