Is a Mercedes extended warranty worth it?
I’m buying a newer Mercedes from my uncle and he told me that the factory warranty is probably up soon. Part of me wants to go the cautious route and buy an extended warranty just in case something goes wrong. Is that a good idea?

extended warranty is worth it if you want to ensure your vehicle will be protected against material or mechanical defects after the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty is the factory warranty offered by Mercedes that covers material or workmanship-related defects for all Mercedes vehicles for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. An Extended Limited Warranty extends this protection for another 60, 72, or 84 months, or 75,000 or 1000,000 miles.
You can choose the duration of the extended warranty, but you must purchase it before your New Vehicle Limited Warranty is up. The price of the Extended Limited Warranty varies but typically costs between $2,400 to $8,200.
