RX-7 would be a suitable first car for him. But in general, the RX-7 is not advisable as a daily driver or a first vehicle for a teenager. The Mazda RX-7 is a powerful and capable sports car manufactured for the 1978 to 1995 model years, but it’s also a needy vehicle. It takes a lot of upkeep from someone who knows how to work on a rotary engine.
There are plenty of driving enthusiasts who love the Mazda RX-7 because it handles well, is lightweight, and is fun to drive. Its standard engine makes 255 horsepower, and that’s a lot of power for a two-seater coupe, especially if a 16-year-old is behind the wheel.
