Is a Honda Element an SUV?
When I was in college, my friend had a Honda Element and we used it as our surfer car. Now that I’m newly divorced, I thought I’d relive a bit of my youth and have some excitement by hanging ten. I just want to make sure that the Honda Element is perfect for both the beach and my other errands—is the Element an SUV or is it something a bit smaller?

There’s nothing like riding the waves! The Honda Element is a sort of hybrid between an SUV and a compact crossover. While Honda marketed the Element strictly as a fun SUV, its underpinnings actually make it a compact crossover that’s similar in size to the Honda CR-V.
That said, the Honda Element is a great value buy if you can find one at a good price. It’s become a bit of a collector’s item after it was discontinued in 2011, but one with low miles is certain to keep you going to and from the beach for the foreseeable future.
