Is a Ford Expedition a truck or an SUV?
Would a Ford Expedition be considered an SUV, or is it big enough to be a truck? It looks like a truck to me, but I can’t tell if there’s actually a bed in the back or not.

The Ford Expedition is an SUV, not a truck. However, it does certainly look like a truck, partially due to its length and due to the fact that it was originally based on Ford’s popular full-size pickup truck platform. This makes the vehicle look like a truck in terms of shape when, in fact, the Expedition is a three-row SUV.
With that being said, you may still need a truck license plate for the Ford Expedition in certain states. This is because the need for truck license plates is based on the size of your vehicle rather than its official classification. If you see an Expedition with a truck license plate, that’s the reason why!
