Is a defective vehicle a moving violation in Colorado?

, but not always. Instead, the charge is labeled as a Class A traffic infraction with a corresponding fine of $15 to $100. The classification of this ticket as a moving or non-moving violation will depend on how severely your vehicle is impaired. A burnt out headlight, for example, might be charged differently than a smashed windshield.
