“Don’t worry! There are plenty of insurance options when you choose to rent a car.
The first and most simple option is to buy
rental car insurance
from the rental car agency. They will give you the option of selecting liability coverage
and collision coverage
. Since you don’t have an underlying policy, you would want to purchase both. You can also reach out to your credit card company. Many cards now have rental perks and discounts. They may be able to get a deal on the rental car for you or provide you with free collision coverage.
Another option is to skip the rental car counter altogether and go with a carsharing service. Depending on your location, there are companies like Turo and Zipcar that offer rental cars with with insurance.”
