How wide is a three-car garage?
I’m looking into buying a new house, and I want to make sure it has space for my four cars. I know a four-car garage would be ideal—but I’d like to buy a smaller property if possible. How big are standard three-car garages?

Buying a new house is a rewarding process—and it can be loads of fun! But trying to keep the budget low can be challenging. Unfortunately, three-car garages are usually 32 feet wide and 22 feet deep—so it likely won’t be big enough for four cars.
Of course, that also depends on your cars and whether you plan on storing each in the garage! The average car width is just under 6 feet. If your cars are around that size, you may be able to fit them in your garage—depending on your garage door. Even if the door gets in the way, it’s probably cheaper to replace it than buy a bigger property.
