How much will your rate increase if you submit a comprehensive claim?
Someone told me that car insurance rates increase when you submit claims; are comprehensive claims included in that? A hail storm dented my car and I'd like to get the dents repaired through my comprehensive coverage.

Carriers all rate policies differently, so it can be hard to tell how a claim may impact your rate. However, a rate increase should not stop you from submitting a comprehensive claim if you need to repair the damage.
If your insurance ends up increasing after submitting a claim, you can always look at other car insurance companies. Since each company determines rates differently, you can likely find a more
affordable car insurance
policy with another carrier. If you shop around and aren’t able to find a lower rate, you should continue to look every six months. As your claim ages, your rate should decrease.”
