How much over the speed limit is considered reckless driving?

How fast do you have to be driving to get a reckless driving ticket in New Mexico? I got pulled over there for speeding and I think I might have to go to court, but I’m not positive.

We’re sorry to hear that you got pulled over! While there is no specific amount over the speed limit that’s considered reckless driving in
New Mexico
, you can still get a reckless driving or careless driving charge for speeding if it’s determined that your actions endangered others.
Typically, you’ll just get a speeding ticket if you are within 10 to 15 mph of the speed limit when you are pulled over. If you are going 35 mph over or more, however, it’s likely that you’ll be facing another charge.
If you are charged with reckless or careless driving, I recommend finding a lawyer to help you fight the charge. Reckless and careless driving both come with serious consequences in the state of New Mexico, including potential jail time, heavy fines, and a mark on your criminal record.
Traffic infractions can also cause an increase in your insurance premiums. Luckily, the
