How much money does it cost to replace a car starter?

Recently I’ve been noticing that my car makes weird noises while starting and just today the starter didn’t work at all after I turned the key—how much does it cost to replace a car starter?

Sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing car trouble! Unfortunately, your car starter is an incredibly important part of your car’s start-up system and the average auto-shop replacement cost is usually between $350 and $550, depending on the vehicle make and model.
The average parts cost for a new starter ranges from $50 to $300, but starters for some high-end and luxury vehicles can run as high as $600. Labor costs, on the other hand, often make up at least $100 of the total cost, but can range much higher depending on how easy the starter is to access.
Were you to replace the starter yourself, you’d cut down on some of the cost, but this is only recommended if you have extensive experience working with your vehicle make and model.
Hope this helps!
