How much is a new electric car key?
If I decide to go with an electric car for my next vehicle, will replacing the key be expensive? I’ve noticed that replacing the key fobs in push-to-start cars tends to be much more expensive than replacing an old-fashioned car key.

For a Nissan LEAF, for example, replacing the electric key fob can cost anywhere between $300 and $450. Other electric key fobs can be replaced for as low as $50. If you’re driving a Tesla, a key card can be purchased for just $25, but most owners use keyless entry by pairing their car with a smartphone. A key fob can also be purchased for $175 for hands-free access.
