I just bought myself a lightly used Lexus GS 300. For the most part, I love it. But I’m a little disappointed with its horsepower and overall oomph. I’m thinking that I might get the thing tuned. What does a Lexus GS 300 tuning cost?

tuning will depend on what type of tuning you’re talking about. Like most modern cars, the GS 300 can be tuned in one of two ways. You can go the traditional route and have an expert technician remove, adjust, calibrate, and finetune key internal components to push your car’s performance to the next level.
Traditional tunings are usually a bit more effective but more expensive. For a traditional tuning for your Lexus, you’re probably looking at a total cost of somewhere between $750 and $1,000—depending on the mechanic you use.
Alternatively, you can purchase a chip tune. Chip tunes come in a variety of forms, but most often they’re just a data storage chip with preprogrammed software on it. Plug the chip into your Lexus, and it will rewrite certain command controls in your car’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
