The cost to tow a car is usually between $2.50 and $7.00 per mile.

towing and labor coverage
as part of your car insurance policy—because if you do, the tow is probably free!
Towing prices fluctuate depending on a couple of factors, including:- Size of the vehicle: Bigger vehicles cost more to tow.
- Distance: The further you have to be towed, the higher the bill.
- Type of vehicle: Luxury models or complex cars cost more to tow.
- Location: If the car is in an inconvenient spot like a ditch or the side of a crowded highway, you might pay for a tow.
- Company: Some companies charge higher rates simply because they’re more established or have a better brand. Be aware that thecost to tow a carusually also includes a flat fee along with the pay-per-mile rate. $50 is common among towing companies, but it will vary depending on who you hire. Of course, if you can wait a couple of days, you might consider roadside assistance membership. While most memberships, includingAAA memberships, have waiting periods before coverage starts, towing is usually included. If you’re concerned about the cost, your best bet is to find a repair shop located near your car to reduce the overall amount you’re paying per mile.
