How much does it cost to replace a car side mirror?

Recently, my car has been having trouble switching gears when I accelerate and there’s strange grinding noises coming from under the hood. I’m worried there’s something wrong with my transmission. Do you know what a 2006 PT Cruiser transmission replacement costs?

I heard if you’re car has an immobilizer it is much harder to steal. I live in New York City so theft is always a concern of mine. What does an immobilizer look like and how can I tell if my car has one?

Is there a way to tell if my next-door neighbor has car insurance? This guy slammed into my car while it was parked in our shared driveway. I told him he needed to pay for the damage and he said he couldn't afford to and didn't have insurance. I bet he does and just doesn't want to call them! Is there any way I can find out on my own?
