How much does it cost to install electric car windows?

I have an older Ford Taurus from the ‘90s. It has crank windows that I really hate having to use. I can’t afford a newer vehicle, but I am curious about how much it would cost me to have someone install electric windows for me. Is it affordable?

To have power
windows
installed in a car typically costs somewhere between $200 and $400 per window. So for a ‘90s
Taurus
(or any sedan, really), you’ll be paying, on average, about $1,000. While this isn’t exactly cheap, it is cheaper than purchasing a new vehicle. You may also be wondering if it’s possible for you to install power windows yourself. The answer is, yes—kind of.
To install your own power windows, you’ll have to know how to disassemble your vehicle’s wiring and door panels, and how to re-wire everything correctly. If that sounds like a challenge, it’s better to take your car to a mechanic, who can help you get the job done more safely and quickly. Adding power windows to your car is certainly possible, but will add repair costs that cut into your budget over time. In many
aftermarket
power window kits, the motors don’t last as long as factory-produced setups do, which means that drivers who make the switch may have to replace the motors on each window every 2 to 3 years.
In short—you can have power windows installed. It’s just not a simple process for most drivers. But with
