I’ve recently started a new disaster response job where I handle electrical wiring that gets loose or frayed after a fire, flood, or whatever else. I’d like to have a fire extinguisher on hand, just in case. Is it possible to get one mounted in the bed of my truck? And if it is, how much would that cost me?

Yes—you can have a fire extinguisher mounted in the bed of your truck. The installation cost will vary a little—you can expect to pay between $10 and $30 for the small ones that people typically install in their vehicles. If you want a larger one, they also make the standard 5-pound extinguishers for cars—but they can cost as much as $75 or more.
You can purchase the mounting bracket and extinguisher from Amazon, Home Depot, and most other major retailers. Having one nearby will be an excellent extra precaution during your hazardous work days.
