How much does it cost to fix a knocking engine?

There’s a strange knocking sound coming from my engine. Unless someone is under the hood and trying to get out, I think I’ve got a mechanical issue. How much does it cost to fix a knocking engine?

We’re sorry to hear about your engine trouble! It’s likely a problem with a connecting rod. Unfortunately, repairs can cost over $2,500.
Engine issues are always pricier fixes. In this case, the issue is with one of your engine rods, which is causing an issue known as ‘rod knock’. The sound is the collision between your crankshaft journal and bearing.
Due to the intricacy of repairs and the number of potential issues, you should expect to pay between $2,000 and $3,000 in repairs. If the entire engine needs to be rebuilt, you’re looking at a cost closer to $4,000.
We know this is a lot of money. But you shouldn’t wait to get your engine repaired. The issue will only get worse and repairs will only become more expensive.
While maintenance of this nature isn’t covered, there are plenty of repairs and expenses that you can claim with a good
