How much can a Mercedes SUV tow?

I’m well aware of the top-notch features and luxury that Mercedes offers, but I’m not entirely sold on the capabilities of a Mercedes SUV. I want to tow my camper for my family vacations, but I want to make sure that the Mercedes is up to the task. What’s the towing capacity of a Mercedes SUV?

The amount a Mercedes can tow depends on which model you buy. However, many are capable beasts when you want to tow something like a camper. Here’s the towing capacity of each of Mercedes SUV:
  • GLC-Class: 3,500 pounds
  • GLE-Class: 7,700 pounds
  • GLS-Class: 7,700 pounds
  • G-Class: 7,000 pounds
Note that the GLA and GLB SUVs from Mercedes are not towing-rated. That’s not to say you can’t add a trailer hitch and tow something light—as in, under 1,000 pounds. But doing so may void the warranty, so tow at your own risk.
As long as you’re not towing a massive trailer, all four of the Mercedes SUVs listed above should be able to handle the load. But to protect your ride and your camper, make sure to choose an affordable, high-quality
