How many square feet are there in a normal single car garage? I’m considering buying this house but the garage seems really small and I’m not positive that my car will fit.

ranges from 240 to 384 square feet, or 20 to 24 feet long by 12 to 16 feet wide. For reference, a typical modern car is 97.6 square feet, or 16 feet long by slightly over six feet wide.If the garage at your prospective home seems unusually small, it’s possible that the garage was built in the early 1900s. Many early garages are much too small to house a modern vehicle because they were built for a much smaller car. If you’re worried that this may be the case with your garage, ask your real estate agent when the garage was built.
