There are usually eight spark plugs in a 4.7 V8 engine, but newer HEMI engines with MDS and twin spark engines with no distributor may have 16 total spark plugs.
Typically, there is one spark plug per engine cylinder. A V8 would mean that there are eight spark plugs.
However, some newer Dodges like the 4.7 V8 engine have dual spark plugs. A V8 in this model may have 16 spark plugs. Check your owner’s manual to confirm—and buy enough spark plugs if you’re replacing them yourself!
