How many spark plugs are in a Mercedes-Benz ML350?

So I brought my Mercedes in for servicing, and usually after it's done, my mechanic Milt and I sit and chat for a while. He usually talks about automotive stuff—I don’t know much about it, but I try to follow along the best I can. Today, Milt mentioned that next time I might have to replace my spark plugs. A
Mercedes-Benz ML350
features six spark plugs, one for each cylinder in its V6 engine.
As a rule of thumb, the number of spark plugs a car has depends on the type of engine it has. So, a V6 engine normally has six spark plugs, an inline four-cylinder engine has four spark plugs, a V8 engine has eight spark plugs, etc.
If Milt hasn’t explained what a spark plug is, we here at Jerry are happy to fill you in! A spark plug sends a bolt of electricity across a tiny gap and ignites the fuel & air mixture in your engine—this puts the engine’s pistons in motion and generates the power necessary to get your car moving.
Spark plugs usually last around 100,000 miles before they need to be replaced. Expect to pay $400 to $500 for your
replacement Mercedes-Benz spark plugs
(including parts and labor), according to RepairPal.com.
That’s a good chunk of change, but it’s not a cost you’ll have to pay very often. Don’t neglect the replacement, though—keeping up on your
routine vehicle maintenance
can save you from expensive
car repair
bills later on.
