How many points before your license is suspended in Texas?
I don’t really understand how driving points can affect me in Texas. I know that points are part of getting a ticket, but does getting too many points cost you your license?

While
Texas
does use the points system to track driver behavior, point totals don’t always equal suspension. In Texas, four moving violations results in a license suspension of up to 12 months. This technically equals eight to 12 points, but the total number of points is not as important as the number of violations.If you’d like to have a cleaner record, there are a couple of ways to do that in Texas. First, you can wait. For every 12 months without a violation, Texas will remove one point from your record.
If you’d like to get rid of more points at once, though, you can take a defensive driving course. As long as the course is approved by the state, you’ll get a point reduction upon completion of the course.
