How many points before your license is suspended in Montana?

Will my dad’s license really get suspended if he gets more speeding tickets in Montana? I didn’t know that getting lots of tickets could cause license suspension.

Yes! If you earn 15 points within 36 months, your license can be suspended for six months in the state of
Montana
. For reference, most speeding tickets are worth two to three points, so your dad would have to get five to eight speeding tickets within three years in order to reach the point of suspension.
While Montana does not have a points reduction program right now, the points on your record will be automatically removed after three years have passed. This means that your insurance rates will be higher for at least three years following a speeding ticket.
