Take a deep breath, everything is going to be fine! In
Delaware
, if you acquire 14 points, you will earn a mandatory 4-month suspension. For every two points that you accumulate after that, you may earn an additional two-month license suspension.
Simple traffic violations are only worth two points, so losing your license certainly isn’t of too much concern. However, more serious offenses can result in upwards of six points.
After 12 months, all demerit points lose half their value, and some even expire completely over time. If you’re concerned about your driving record, you can earn three points back by completing a defensive driving course.
