produced each year, according to Hemmings.Known also as the Shelby Cobra or the AC Cobra—and not to be confused with the
Mustang Cobra
—the Ford Cobra was introduced as a competitor to the Corvette designed by the legendary race car driver and vehicle designer Carroll Shelby. It was a charming two-seat sports car with a V8 engine, and it was sold in both North America and Europe during its production years.While so few of the real deal was actually produced, it certainly inspired plenty of reproductions and look-alikes, dubbed “Continuation Cars,” with some being better than others.
But with so few of the real deal out there, an original Ford Cobra would be pretty challenging to find. That said, keep an eye out for them—they sometimes generate headlines when they’re listed for auction online!
