Everyone learns at their own pace, but you can expect learning how to drive to take about 60 hours of practice and supervised instruction–that’s only 30 days if you practice two hours a day.Individual states usually have specific requirements for either of the following groups when it comes to obtaining your driver’s license:
- New young drivers (usually under 18) who must start with a learner’s permit and earn their unrestricted license from there
- New adult drivers (usually over 18) who may be able to directly pursue their unrestricted license
