How many cylinders does a Toyota Prius have?
I don’t know a lot about cars, but I know that hybrids are different from plain old gas-powered cars. Does this affect how many cylinders the engine has? How many cylinders does a Toyota Prius have?

You’re right! In a hybrid vehicle, an electric motor and gas-powered engine work together to power the car. Most hybrids use a four-cylinder engine, unless they’re luxury performance cars.
All iterations of the Toyota Prius include a four-cylinder engine and that’s unlikely to change in the future.
If you want more power, look for the Toyota Sequoia SUV in 2023. This model comes with a standard V6 engine and i-Force Max hybrid powertrain. The result is a whopping 437 horsepower.
For other hybrid V6 options, you’ll have to look beyond the Toyota line-up. Try the:
- Acura RLX Sport Hybrid
- Audi A8 Hybrid
- Infiniti Q7 Hybrid.
You’ll pay top dollar for these vehicles but the fuel savings may help pacify your bank account.
