How many cars are in Nebraska?

I live in Omaha, and recently I’ve noticed far fewer people on the road. I don’t know if people are moving to different states or they just decided to sell their car, but it seems odd. How many cars are there in Nebraska?

If you’ve noticed fewer people driving in Omaha or the rest of
Nebraska
, you have a keen sense of observation. Over the past five years, car registrations have decreased by 2.3%.
Per the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 1.95 million cars in Nebraska. Even with the drop in car registrations, Nebraska still has one of the highest rates per capita of car ownership in the U.S.
With 101 cars for every 100 residents, nearly everyone drives. This is most likely due to the lack of public transportation and rural landscape.
If you’re a Nebraska resident and you haven’t reviewed your car insurance policy recently, you’re probably overpaying.
