Every car will come standard with two front brakes and two rear brakes, as well as a parking brake.Depending on your specific vehicle, all four of these brakes may be discs, or the front two may be discs and the rear two drums. Disc brakes require pads, while drums use brake shoes. Newer Ford Explorers feature disc brakes on all four wheels.
