How many axles does my car have?
My car is all-wheel-drive, and my friend said that meant I had more axles than other cars. To be honest, I don’t really know what an axle is—but that didn’t sound right. Am I wrong? How many axles does my car have?

with more than two axles is a rarity.To find out how many axles you have, just *count the pairs of wheels on your car. The axle is a rod connecting wheels on either side of your car, so you should have one axle for every two wheels. If you see four wheels on your car, then you have two axles!
Of course, buses or trucks that carry lots of people or heavy loads will often have more. For example, an 18-wheeler would have 9 axles in total.
