How long will it take to replace an O2 sensor?
I’m taking my car in for an O2 sensor replacement. They’re saying I should drop the car off for a whole afternoon. But I had an O2 sensor replaced in my last car several years ago and it barely took an hour. How long does it take to replace an O2 sensor? This seems excessive!

The actual process of replacing an O2 sensor is fairly straightforward, and most experienced mechanics can get one replaced in about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the make and model of the car. A lot of DIY car repair enthusiasts will even take care of this themselves.
