How long does the BMW 330i warranty last?
I purchased a BMW 330i in 2020 and noticed a strange noise coming from the back of the car when I turned right. It’s been happening for a few weeks, and I think something may be damaged. How long is the factory warranty, and will any damage still be covered?

Good question—having to cover damage to your
BMW
isn’t cheap, so you’ll want to check what the warranty covers first. The BMW 330i’s
limited warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. If there’s an issue with the engine, the transmission/transaxle, the transfer case, or the drivetrain within the first four years or 50,000 miles, BMW’s powertrain warranty will cover the cost—this is also part of the factory warranty.
In addition, BMW’s warranty covers corrosion or rust for 12 years and unlimited miles and emissions compliance for eight years or 80,000 miles. This will cover your vehicle if it doesn’t meet the EPA-required emissions standards.
Plus, BMW Ultimate Care comes standard on all new purchases or leases for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This includes:
- Engine oil
- Engine filter
- Brake fluid
- Cabin microfilter(s)
- Engine air filter(s)
- Spark plugs
- Remote control/key battery
- Vehicle check
- Fuel filter (diesel engines only)
