How long does it take to start Uber Eats driving?
I’m trying to start a college fund for my six-month-old, so I thought I’d drive for Uber Eats on weekends. I’d like to get started quickly, but I know they have to run a background check. How long does it take to start driving for Uber Eats?

It takes up to 10 business days to start driving for Uber Eats. However, most new drivers report that they get approval in two to five days.
The reason it takes some time to become an Uber Eats driver is because they screen all drivers and (as you mentioned) run background checks. When you apply, you will need to provide:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Birthdate
- Vehicle information
- Driver’s license information
To sign up, visit the Uber website, or if you already have an Uber driver account, use the Uber app. Here’s how:
- Open the app
- Go to Accounts
- Go to Work Hub
- Select Deliver for Uber Eats
