How long does it take to get car insurance on a car?

I don’t have a lot of free time to apply for car insurance, but I need it. How long does it generally take?

Generally speaking, you can get car insurance the same day you apply, and applications shouldn’t take more than an hour if you have all the right information.

To help streamline the process of applying for insurance, have the following information ready:

Driver’s license

Your date of birth

Your address

Marital status

Recent driving history (claims, accidents, or driving courses)

Date you purchased the vehicle

The car’s VIN (vehicle identification number)

Mileage on the vehicle

Your history of car insurance coverage, if applicable

It will also help if you know

what kind of coverage
