How long does car delivery take?

I’m thinking of purchasing a car from a dealer, but I want a specific model. I don’t want to wait weeks for it to get here. How long will I have to wait for my car to be delivered?

Car delivery usually takes one to seven days depending on how far your delivery has to travel. Before you buy, ask where your car is coming from and request a tracking number for the delivery.
Factors that affect how long car delivery takes include:
  • If the car is coming from the same state or a
    neighboring state
, delivery should only take one to three days.
  • If the car has to travel at least halfway across the country (say, from Kansas to California), delivery could take three to five days.
  • If your car has to travel further than that within the US, the delivery could take five to 10 days or more.
  • If your car is coming from another country, the delivery may take 30 to 40 days.
Regardless of how you get your new car, you’re going to need a new insurance policy. Thankfully, the
