How long does a reckless driving charge stay on your record?

I recently received a reckless driving charge and I pled guilty per the advice of my lawyer. He said they had me dead to rights, so I agreed. Now I’m worried about the effect it may have on my record. How long will a reckless driving charge be on my record?

Reckless driving will likely stay on your driving record for five to 10 years. It depends on the law where you were pulled over.
In most states, reckless driving is a misdemeanor. As such, it could stay on your criminal record forever.
Reckless driving can also result in:
  • Fines
  • Jail time
  • Points on your license
  • License suspension
Because of the severity and consequences, some offenders opt to
hire a lawyer
when facing a reckless driving case. Experienced lawyers can often help get charges, penalties, and/or fines reduced.
