Oh, no! I’m sorry to hear you didn’t pass your test. Not to worry! The amount of time you’ll have to wait to retake your driving test varies by state—but many states allow you to retake the test the very next day.
Here are examples of the retake rules in a few states for a frame of reference:
Texas: you can retest the very next day
California: you’ll need to wait two weeks to retake your test
Vermont: you’ll need to wait for one week to retake your test
Be sure to check your state’s specific laws about retesting. In some states, if you fail three times within 90 days, you may have to wait for one year before testing again.
